One thing I enjoy almost as much as drawing is sharing my love of art with others. My classes are packed with information and inspiration, and I hope my enthusiasm helps all of my students to find their own creative voice. Classes are held through local adult community education programs. Classes can be one night or multi-week workshops. Colored Pencil Explorations 6-week Artist Series

Discover the versatility of colored pencil as you learn the fundamental techniques for working with this incredible medium. Classes will include discussions and demonstrations on creating form and volume, layering and blending colors, and how to create a variety of textures (e.g. metal, glass, leaves, fur, feathers). Watercolor Birds

Learn how to capture the beauty of birds in watercolor. We’ll begin with a simple method for accurately sketching a bird then we’ll use our watercolors to create beautiful feather textures.     Watercolor Landscapes: Skies

    Skies set the mood of a painting and are the perfect subject for watercolor. In this class we’ll explore a variety of techniques as we paint different clouds types, dramatic sunsets, mist, falling rain, and wind.     Colored Pencil Botanicals

    Get ready for the upcoming gardening season by learning how to capture the beauty of your favorite flower, fruit, or vegetable. Using colored pencils you will learn techniques to create realistic plant and leaf textures. Classes will include demonstrations, discussions on mixing colors, and plenty of time for practice and individual guidance. All levels of drawing experience are welcome.

    Drawing Nights – One Night Workshops

    Learn how to work with colored pencils while receiving detailed instruction in these fun one night classes. Each week we’ll be drawing a new subject that highlights a different technique. No experience is necessary and all materials will be provided including an 8″ x 10″ mat for easy framing.

    Birds & Blooms in Colored Pencil

    Capture the beauty of birds and plants in colored pencil. Learn how to create a line drawing with realistic proportions and then create color mixes that will bring your drawings to life. We’ll explore the techniques needed to create realistic looking feathers, plant, and leaf textures. There will be instructor led demonstrations and plenty of time for individual guidance.
